The 7-3 Buffalo Bills host the 3-7 Denver Broncos this Sunday afternoon at New Era Field. The Bills are inching closer and closer to securing a playoff spot, and a win on Sunday would go a long way. Some would say this is a must win, based on the remaining schedule.
The victory on Sunday in Miami was a confidence booster, especially for Josh Allen. The second year quarterback seemed more relaxed in the pocket and was not forcing the ball. JA has found a favorite target in John Brown, who hauled in nine catches, for 137 yards and two scores. Below is an example of Allen being relaxed in the pocket, letting his eyes move the defense, and put a nice ball in between two defenders for their first score of the day.
The defense balled out, picking up 7 sacks, and Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds were all over the field. Some negatives were the special teams, specifically allowing a 101 yard kick off return, and allowing the Dolphins to recover an onside kick towards the end of the first half. But a win is a win, and were on to Denver.
The Broncos walk in blowing a 20-0 half time lead over the Minnesota Vikings. Denver walks in with Brandon Allen, who will be starting his third career game, after Joe Flacco was put on injured reserve due to a herniated disk in his neck. The Broncos defense is not to shabby, ranking 5th in passing D, allowing an average of 210 yards through the air, and 11th in the league on the ground, giving up just over 100 yards. As long as Von Miller is on the defensive side of the ball, it will never be easy for any quarterback.
So what should we expect on Sunday? One thing for sure is that Twitter will be buzzing. Some will be calling for Allen to throw for over 300 yards, others will be calling for Hauschka's head if he misses another field goal, and some will be preparing themselves for a Sabres loss in Florida.
