Thanksgiving week is here, and I'm ready to gorge myself on turkey and stuffing this week. Only 2 weeks until the fantasy playoffs, and there are some big names out in this upcoming week. I do the hard work so you don't have to!
Quarterback: Philip Rivers (9.4% Rostered)
Philip Rivers has been having a very Philip Rivers type season. Consistent, but not really a wow factor game. He had his second best game against Green Bay, and in a divisional matchup against Tennessee coming up, he will continue his high level of play. The way he is spreading the ball around to all of his weapons keeps the defense on their toes, and the running game is opening up looks in the middle of the field. Look for Rivers to had another solid game here.
Running Back: Gus Edwards (7.3% Rostered)
Baltimore had some big news on Monday when Mark Ingram and JK Dobbins both were added to the COVID/Reserve Injured list. That leaves Gus Edwards as the number 1 running back on the depth chart, and he will get nearly all of the carries from the running back spot on Thursday against the Steelers. The Steelers have the best pass rush and the best secondary in the NFL, so Baltimore will be relying heavy on the running game. Take advantage of this matchup.
Wide Receiver: Damiere Byrd (0.8% Rostered)
The Patriots wide receiver had a breakout game this past Sunday by catching 6 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. He is still the secondary option behind Jakobi Meyers, but going up against a Cardinals secondary that is in the bottom third of the league in pass defense, I can see Byrd having another big game.
Tight End: WIll Dissly (0.8% Rostered)
The Seahawks tight end will be thrust into the starting role with the injury news to Greg Olsen. The Seahawks have a favorable matchup going up against a shaky Philadelphia secondary, and Wilson does love throwing to the tight end when near the goal line. I expect Dissly to have a red zone touchdown in this game.
Defense/Special Teams: Green Bay Packers (34.8% Rostered)
The Packers are coming off of a disappointing game against Indy. They are getting a favorable matchup on Sunday night against Chicago, who doesn't know which Quarterback they will start. The Packers are a better team on defense than what they showed against the Colts, and a divisional game is a perfect time for them to get right going into the last quarter of the NFL season.
Kicker: Dustin Hopkins (0.5% Rostered)
The Washington Football Team kicker is dealing with a groin strain, but he will still be good to go on Thursday against the Cowboys. He had a 50+ yards FG this past week, and hit all of his PAT. He has been a little inconsistent making field goals this year, but this is a good game for him to score. Being indoors at Dallas gives favorable weather for Hopkins.
Homer Pick of the Week: Lee Smith (0% Rostered)
This is probably the boldest Homer Pick I've made thus far. There's not even a guarantee that Smith will be active on Sunday. If he's not, I will give another name that I think will break out. But, if Lee Smith is active, I just have a feeling that he will score in this game. On Sunday, the Jets scored using their tight end against the Chargers defense, and I think this can happen again. The Bills will need to start using the Tight End more going into the last run of the season, and teams usually forget about Lee Smith as a receiver when he is out there.
