Last week of Fantasy Football regular season is here for most of us!! Need that last push for the playoffs? Do you have Will Fuller, who is now suspended for the rest of the season? Perhaps COVID is taking out your star players? Just sit back and let me do all the dirty work for you. Time to dig into the waiver wire for week 13.
Quarterback: Mitchell Trubisky (3.8% Rostered)
Now, I know you're probably laughing at me right now for picking Trubisky. Fact is, he is going up against the Lions this week. A Lions team where he scored 24 points against in Week 1. A Lions team that just recently fire their Head Coach. What better matchup could you ask for? It looked like Trubisky was meshing well with his receivers on Sunday night against the Packers, and this could lead to another big performance against Detroit.
Running Back: Cam Akers (27.9% Rostered)
This rookie had a coming out party against the 49ers. Averaging over 9 yards per carry and scoring a touchdown, he looked great in his limited time on the field. He looked good enough to the point where he will garner more touches, perhaps in the passing game even, against a Cardinals team that lost on a last second field goal to the Patriots.
Wide Receiver: TY Hilton (45.4% Rostered) This seems weird to write about. TY Hilton, a waiver wire gem? This season definitely hasn't been a typical TY season, but last week against a good Titans secondary, he performed. 4 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Next game is a super favorable matchup for him going up against the Texans, and I can see him having a repeat performance with these types of numbers.
Tight End: Kyle Rudolph (13.6% Rostered) The Vikings tight end hasn't been having close to the year we expected out of Rudolph. The emergence of Irv Smith Jr has dampened Rudolph's fantasy value tremendously this year. The only thing that helps his value in week 13 is that Irv Smith Jr has been battling a groin injury, which gives Rudolph the number one tight end spot. He had 7 catches for 68 yards against Carolina, and playing against Jacksonville can yield even better results.
Defense/Special Teams: Atlanta Falcons (2.4% Rostered)
The Falcons absolutely dismantled the Raiders offense on Sunday. They caused 5 turnovers, had a Pick 6, and sacked the QB 5 times. Their next game is against a Saints team that only had 14 yards passing all game against the Broncos. If Atlanta can slow down the run game and force Taysom Hill to pass the ball, I don't see why the Falcons can ride this momentum into week 13.
Kicker: Nick Folk (1.6% Rostered)
The Patriots kicker has been money the last 2 games. Hitting multiple game winners, and multiple 50+ yard field goals as well. The Patriots will have their hands full against a Chargers offense that can move the ball down the field, so this game has the makings of a shootout. We may see Nick Folk on the field a lot in week 13, and I trust him to make those kicks.
Homer Pick of the Week: Gabriel Davis (1.1% Rostered) Gabriel Davis had a solid game against the Chargers, being the Bills leading receiver with 79 yards and a touchdown. He will see an increased role with John Brown on IR for the next 2 games, and with Stefon Diggs going up against Richard Sherman, Davis will need to step up and show that grown man catching ability on the deep ball that he flashed this past Sunday. He may have some primetime jitters, but feeding him early can settle the nerves.
