Fantasy playoffs are underway! Perhaps you have that one weak spot on your roster, and you need a little boost from a waiver steal. Well, I did the digging for you to reap the rewards. Let get into it!
Quarterback: Alex Smith (5.9% Rostered)
This is risky since he got injured this past Sunday, but I think Washington matches up really well against the Seahawks. The skill position players for Washington are electric after the catch, and Smith has a new redzone target in Logan Thomas. If he is healthy and able to play, I believe he will have a game that will solidify his Comeback Player of the Year and he can bring you one step closer to fantasy glory.
Running Back: Ito Smith (1.4% Rostered)
The Falcons running back ended up with more carries than Todd Gurley, and I foresee this happening again. He is a solid goal line back, and can score in the red zone. He will have a hard time against a stout Tampa Bay rush defense, but if he gets the bulk of the carries, he can produce.
Wide Receiver: Van Jefferson (0.9% Rostered)
The Rams rookie wide receiver has had an up and down season, but the ups have been really good. He has shown off his route running ability, and he has possibly the best matchup of the year for him going up against the Jets. Goff is starting to get hot, and he will start to use all of the targets at his disposal. Jefferson will prosper from this.
Tight End: Irv Smith Jr (3.8% Rostered)
The Vikings tight end has come back from an injury that has hampered him for most of the season, and he has a favorable matchup this week going up against the Bears. With Kyle Rudolph being out, Smith Jr has become the top tight end on the depth chart. With defenses focusing on the playmaking abilities of Thielen and Justin Jefferson, Smith can find the soft spots in the zone behind the linebackers, and he will use his athleticism to create yards after the catch.
Defense/Special Teams: Tennessee Titans (17.8% Rostered)
Tennessee comes into this week battling for the division lead, and they have a favorable matchup against the Lions. With Matthew Stafford possibly being out, the Titans will have to gameplan for Chase Daniels, which doesn't seem like a very daunting task. I see this Titans defense rounding into form in the last few games of the season, and this game against the Lions will help set them straight.
Kicker: Cairo Santos (1% Rostered)
Mitchell Trubisky has been playing on fire the last couple weeks, and this game has the possibility of becoming a shootout. The players that can benefit from shootouts are the kickers. They have the opportunity to kick PATs and get easy fantasy points. Santos has not missed a Field Goal since week 3, and playing in a dome in Minnesota gives him great weather to kick in.
Homer Pick of the Week: Isaiah McKenzie (0.1% Rostered)
I want to believe this can turn into the Isaiah McKenzie revenge game. He was drafted a subsequently let go from the Broncos, and with Josh Allen getting all of his playmakers involved in the offense, I can see the Bills utilizing his speed against a solid Denver pass rush. Don't forget, McKenzie can be a threat with his arm now as well, so he has become a true Swiss Army Knife for this offense.
