Championship Week is here for most leagues!! Congrats if you've made it! Trying to get that elusive championship? Need that hidden gem to push you onto the throne? Well, lucky for you, I have those guys. Sit back and relax, we're going digging.
Quarterback: Drew Lock (8.2% Rostered) Coming off of a bad performance, many wouldn't think Drew Lock would be a candidate for any fantasy standing this week. My thought process brought me here because it's a divisional game. Everybody steps their game up when playing within the division. The last time Lock played the Chargers, he ended up with 290 passing yards and 3 touchdowns through the air. I don't see any reason as to why he cannot have a repeat performance this week.
Running Back: Ty Johnson (8.8% Rostered)
This New York Jets running back has come on strong in the late part of the season. After the injury to Perine, Johnson has turned into the do everything back. He is dangerous out of the backfield, and he has the speed and agility to bounce a run to the outside and break one. The Browns have a bottom tier rush defense of late, and this matchup will suit Johnson well.
Wide Receiver: Darnell Mooney (9% Rostered)
This Bears wide receiver has been a sleeper pick for a majority of the season. It hasn't mattered who he has throwing the ball to him, he has performed. With Mitchell Trubisky looking strong the past couple weeks, Mooney will be the beneficiary of that strong play. Jacksonville is a favorable matchup, so look for Mooney to visit the endzone.
Tight End: Jordan Akins (3.5% Rostered)
The Texans tight end has been thrust to the top of the depth chart, and he hasn't disappointed. We don't know which Bengals defense will show up, but I can imagine Deshaun Watson will look Atkins way, especially in the red zone.
Defense/Special Teams: Houston Texans (9.1% Rostered)
While on the topic of which Bengals team will show up, which offense will we see? That run option they were running seemed to gash the Steelers defense, but now that it's on film, will it be as successful? I believe in the Texans defense this week, and they could carry you to glory.
Kicker: Jake Elliott (15% Rostered)
The Eagles kicker has been the benefactor of a recharged Eagles offense led by Jalen Hurts. The Eagles offense looks good under the lead of Hurts, and I can see them starting to score points again. This is another divisional matchup against the Cowboys, and divisional matchups bring out the best in people, kickers included.
Homer Pick of the Week: John Brown (37.7% Rostered)
Welcome back Smoke!! No better time than right before the playoffs to come back healthy and rested and ready to go. My other thoughts about this goes along with the injury to Diggs. I haven't seen any injury designation for Diggs, but I can imagine if he is limited, Brown will step into that role, and he has shown that he can do it.
Oh, and one more thing.
BUFFALO IS AFC EAST DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!!!
I had to say it. It's been a while.
