It's here guys. Fantasy championship week. I think this is my last fantasy article of the year too. It's been fun y'all. This has been a great season, and I appreciate everyone that has read my articles. Alright, now that I got the mushy stuff out of the way, let's move to the good stuff, shall we?
For quarterback this week, I'm going to roll with a guy who's been up and down a lot this year. He's going up against the 31st ranked pass defense in fantasy this year. His name, is Philip Rivers. He's thrown touchdowns in five straight games, and Oakland's defense is still reeling from their last second loss last week against Jacksonville. If your main guy has a rough match-up, it wouldn't hurt to take a flier on Rivers.
At running back, I'm looking at Boston Scott of the Eagles. In a support role the past few weeks behind Miles Sanders, Scott has scored 24.80 and 13.50 points. He catches a lot of passes out of the backfield, and he always has one explosive run in him when the game is in a lull. Philly is going to rely heavily on the run game this week when they host the Eagles for division superiority.
At wide receiver, I like Steven Sims Jr. He's playing the Giants this week, the 27th ranked defense against receivers this year. After the release of Janoris Jenkins, I don't see another weapon in the Giants secondary to slow down the speed on the outside for Washington. Sims has been a wonderful compliment to McLaurin this year, and he's a weapon anytime he is on the field. He has a 65 yard touchdown run, and he's an explosive return man. Putting him in your flex wouldn't be a bad move.
For tight end, I'm rolling with a rookie this week. He's playing in an important match-up that could determine the division. Of course, I'm talking about Irv Smith Jr. The Vikings rookie caught his second touchdown of the year last week, and with a tough battle against Green Bay coming up, Cousins could be looking his way more this week. He's also a very athletic runner, and he could always be used in some gadget type plays, like tight end sweeps.
At defense, I really like the Denver Broncos and their match-up against the Lions. The Broncos did a great job containing the Texans two weeks ago, and if they play up to that level this week against a bad Lions offense, they could be feasting.
In the kicking game, I'm looking at Joey Slye from the Panthers. If the Colts defense plays the same way against the Panthers as they did against the Saints, Slye could be in for a big day kicking FGs and PATs.
For the homer pick of the week, it's a tough one. All the Bills players that I see on the wire aren't very good starting options. If I could pick a guy that I think will have a splash play or two, it would have to be Robert Foster. The way they've been using him in the running game has been awesome of late, and seeing Josh connect on a deep ball on Sunday gives me hope that he can hit Foster deep on Saturday.
One more thing. If you guys haven't heard, the Buffalo Bills have clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs. Thank you for your time!
