Week 2 Fantasy Perks

Week 1 is in the books, and I hope you all won your matchup. Having buyers remorse with some of your draft picks? Lose a guy to injury? Looking to upgrade? Look no further, for I have done the digging for you.

Quarterback: Teddy Bridgewater vs Jacksonville (4.7% Rostered)

Teddy Bridgewater had a solid Denver debut against the New York Giants, scoring just under 21 fantasy points, which would put him in the top half of all QBs in week 1. He is going up against a Jacksonville defense that gave up 37 points to a subpar Houston team. Denver has plenty of weapons, even with the loss of Jerry Jeudy this past Sunday, and I expect Bridgewater to light up a floundering Jacksonville defense.

Running Back: Tony Jones Jr. vs Carolina (14.7% Rostered)

While I was watching the Saints game, I was shocked to see how much they were subbing in Tony Jones Jr during the game. He ended up with 11 carries for 50 yards and had one catch. A divisional game for New Orleans is on deck with a visit to Carolina. The Carolina pass rush could cause issues, so New Orleans may try to neutralize that with the running game. Look for Jones Jr. to get the same or even more touches, with possibly more catches in the short passing game.

Wide Receiver: Quez Watkins vs San Francisco (1.4% Rostered)

Philadelphia showed up strong on Sunday, showcasing a high octane, high scoring offense. Their week 2 matchup, San Francisco, also showed a high scoring offense in week 1. I can see this game turning into a shootout, and the speed of Quez Watkins will be utilized. He caught all 3 of his targets, but I can see him being used more in the deep passing game this Sunday.

Tight End: David Njoku vs Houston (0.7% Rostered)

Surprisingly Njoku has become a forgotten weapon in the Cleveland Browns offense. His a a big, strong, athletic player, who showed that he can still do it with a grown man 43 yard catch against Kansas City on Sunday. Cleveland has a favorable matchup this Sunday with hosing the Houston Texans, and I believe that this Browns offense will put points up on the board, and Njoku will score a touchdown when the day is done.

Defense/Special Teams: Arizona Cardinals vs Minnesota (5.2% Rostered)

I feel like this is an easy pick this week, especially with the performance of Chandler Jones this past Sunday. 5 sack is an incredible performance, and the Cardinals could tee off again this week by facing a statue in Kirk Cousins. With a pass rush like that, the secondary looks even better, because the QB gets forced into making terrible throws and bad decisions. The Arizona defense can take advantage of this and could bring home another double digit fantasy point game.

Kicker: Dustin Hopkins vs New York Giants (3.3% Rostered)

Even though Washington put Fitzpatrick on the IR on Monday, I have faith that Taylor Heinicke can lead the offense down the field and give Hopkins to score points. Although he may not have a lot of PATs, he will be given plenty of opportunities to put 3 on the board.

Homer Pick of the Week: Dawson Knox vs Miami Dolphins (2.9% Rostered)

Knox looked better in his week 1 snaps, catching all 4 of his targets for 41 yards. Going up against a good secondary in Miami, Knox could be the key to moving the ball downfield, small chunks at a time. Buffalo needs to do something different with their offense in Week 2 to put confidence back into the minds of the fans, and Knox will be a key piece of those changes.
