Week 4 is here guys, and that means the bye weeks have started. The Jets and 49ers are on a bye week, and you may have guys on those teams. Maybe you have guys like Jimmy G, Jameson Crowder or Bell on your team. Well, I'm here to help you dig through the waiver wire to help find some quick replacements to keep your team on top.
First, I'll start with a kind of crazy potential add. Daniel Jones is one to watch this week. He went up against a Bucs defense (which I thought was going to give him problems, and I was wrong. My bad.) and shredded them up for over 300 yards and 2 TDs in the air, and he added on 2 TDs on the ground. The Bears and Mitch Trubisky tore apart the Redskins defense, and I can see Jones doing the same.
With LeVeon Bell on bye, look for Darrel Williams from Kansas City to fill the void. Not only can he fill in fantasy wise, but with Damien Williams and LeSean McCoy on the mend, Darrel can come in a not only take some hand offs, but also see some targets out of the backfield.
If you're looking for someone that can produce somewhere close to what Jameson Crowder can do, look to Adam Humphries. He started his first two games slow, but last week he had 6 catches for 93 yards and that got the ball rolling for him. With the loss of Keanu Neal for Atlanta, they could have a back up covering Humphries out of the slot.
I know Greg Kittle is a top 5 TE in fantasy, and having him on a bye can be tricky for fantasy owners. A good waiver find should be Demetrius Harris. He is now the Browns number 1 TE option with Njoku out for a few week with a broken wrist. He caught his only target on Sunday night against a solid Rams defense, and Baker Mayfield may rely on him against an even better Ravens defense.
I know nobody would have the Jets defense this year on fantasy, but the 49ers defense has been passable, especially the game against the Bengals. A favorable matchup that I'm looking toward is the Texans Defense versus Kyle Allen and the Panthers. Allen looked decent against the below average Cardinals defense. I don't think Allen is going to have as much luck against Houston this week.
If you have Robbie Gould on you team and looking for a quick replacement while he on on a bye, Josh Lambo would be a good look. The Jags are playing in Denver this week, so the football will be flying a little bit higher and a little bit further than normal. Pair that with the Legend of Minshew leading the offense, Lambo could be seeing the field a lot more than normal.
For my homer pick of the week, add Dawson Knox if you can. I took a swing on Tyler Kroft and he re-injured his ankle the day after I swung. Well, Knox did a great job in the opportunities that he had on Sunday. He did have one drop, but he then turned into an absolute unit on his 49 yard catch and run in the 4th quarter. Oh yea, he also caught the first touchdown of his adult life. Going up against the Patriots this week will be the biggest test for this Bills offense, and Knox can see a slight uptick in his targets.
