Week 4 didn't quite work out as planned, but hey, that's how things go. We look ahead to week 5 and look to the next quarter of the season. What's the phrase, "Make sure to win the day."
Quarterback: Taylor Heinicke (WFT) vs New Orleans (10.2% Rostered)
Heinicke has gotten progressively better week after week, and this will increase his confidence. Playing at home will give him some comfortability, and adding in his athletic ability, he can put up some big numbers. The New Orleans defense has been streaky so far this year, and Washington will be able to take advantage of this.
Running Back: Khalil Herbert (Chicago Bears) vs Las Vegas (0.2% Rostered)
Going up against the Raiders defense can be a tricky task, but the fact that Montgomery and Williams could both be out for this game, Herbert will be the main option in the Chicago ground game. With Justin Fields, the defense will have to respect his running ability, and that can open up the middle during the RPO's.
Wide Receiver: Van Jefferson (LA Rams) vs Seattle (5.3% Rostered)
The Rams offense is hitting on most cylinders right now, and Van Jefferson is an integral part of their passing offense. The second year player is really coming into his own, and he may be sneaking into the WR2 spot in the offense. Playing in Seattle can create a little trouble, but I believe the Rams offense can overcome most things thrown their way. Add in a divisional matchup, and we have a great matchup on our hands.
Tight End: Dalton Schultz (Dallas) vs New York Giants (21.6% Rostered)
Schultz is on a hot streak right now, and this will continue against the New York Giants. He has had 6 targets in 3 of the first 4 games, and the Cowboys offense has been getting back on track with the health of Prescott slowly getting better as the season moves along. He will probably get picked up a lot this week, so try to move quick if you can.
Defense/Special Team: Las Angeles Chargers vs Cleveland (2.5% Rostered)
The Chargers defense has been average so far this year, as they have played some strong opponents. This doesn't change in week 5 going up against the Cleveland Browns. We all know the Browns have a high octane offense, but the Chargers pass rush has been progressively getting better game after game. This game against the Browns will be a big one, and I think the defense will step up and provide some game changing plays.
Kicker: Randy Bullock (Tennessee) vs Jacksonville (1.1% Rostered)
The weather in Florida has been beautiful lately, and I hope by Sunday, it stays this way. Bullock was just about automatic last week, but he missed a game tying FG in overtime against the Jets. Bullock has to have the memory of a goldfish and come back this week stronger. With a divisional matchup, I look for Tennessee to make a statement that they're back and still the class of the AFC South.
Homer Pick of the Week: Jake Kumerow vs Kansas City (0.1% Rostered)
I don't know why, and I can't explain this feeling, but I believe that Kumerow will catch a touchdown on Sunday night against the Chiefs. With Gabe Davis nursing an ankle injury, Kumerow can step into that big bodied, deep threat that we know he can be. Bold strategy to start him in your lineup, but if you're desperate, why not take a flyer?
