This week was strange. Games being postponed, moved, adjusted. It was hard to keep up. Maybe week 6 will bring us back to some sense of normalcy.
Teams on Bye: Patriots, Saints, Raiders, Seahawks
Quarterback: Ryan Tannehill
The Titans QB looked good Tuesday night against a shaky Bills defense. The Titans play against the Texans next, and divisional match ups are always difficult to predict. I see the Titans keeping their momentum up against Houston, and Tannehill will be the man behind this offense during this push. Tannehill will be a solid replacement if you have somebody like Wilson or Newton on your roster.
Running Back: La'Mical Perine
With the jaw dropping news that the Jets have released LeVeon Bell and the Jets releasing Kallen Ballage last week, Perine has moved up to number 2 on the running back depth chart. We know that Frank Gore is the guy now in New Jersey, but we also know that he will need his rest in between snaps. Look for Perine to have his first bulk of touches in his short career this Sunday.
Wide Receiver: Travis Fulgham
The Eagles are a walking medical unit. I feel like they have more guys injured than any other team in the NFL. With that being said, this gives guys opportunity to step up and show off. Last week, Fulgham showed off with 10 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown. He has scored a touchdown two weeks in a row, and with the top three guys still sidelined in Philly, Fulgham will still get a steady diet of targets against the Rams.
Tight End: Robert Tonyan
Green Bay is coming off of a bye week, and they are possibly the hottest team in the NFL. Tonyan has scored 5 touchdowns in his last 3 games that he played. The Packers visit Tampa Bay this week, and I can see Rodgers continue to use Tonyan, even when Davante Adams comes back from injury.
Defense/Special Teams: Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins defense showed up on Sunday against San Francisco. They caused three turnovers and had 5 sacks. They dominated, in simple terms. This week, they are playing against the Jets. The Jets looked bad last week, and it may have something to do with Darnold sitting out the week. Even so, I see the Dolphins staying hot and dominating again against the Jets.
Kicker: Dan Bailey
The Vikings looked like they found something within the offense Sunday night, and were able to move the ball well against an effective Seahawks secondary. This week, they go up against a Falcons defense that gives up a ton of yards and points. Look for Minnesota to move the ball into scoring territory a lot, and Bailey will put the ball through the uprights.
Homer Pick of the Week: TJ Yeldon
We finally got a solid Yeldon game on Tuesday night against the Titans. He had a couple carries, and he had a score through the air. With Zack Moss missing time with a toe injury, perhaps Daboll will try and incorporate Yeldon more into the offensive game plan and help spread out the short passing game. I can see another Yeldon touchdown through the air Monday night against Kansas City.
