The Bills are back this week after a much needed week off. I don't know who needed the week off more, the Bills or my liver. Anyway, it's time to work on those bye week adds and replacing the injured players on your team. The Panthers, Browns, Steelers and Bucs are all off this week. We saw players like Will Dissly go down for the year with an injury and Emmanuel Sanders go down with an injury. Not sure how much time he could miss, but the good news is he practiced today. Let me give you those waivers digs for your teams.
At this point in the season, we are all pretty set on the QB position, but if you're looking for a new face to start for a week, why not go with Derek Carr. He may be going up against the Packers defense, but the Raiders are coming off of their bye and have had two weeks to prepare for them. With Josh Jacobs coming off one of his best games of the year, the Packers could be stacking the box, which would open some passing lanes. Perhaps he can hit his new target Zay Jones for a TD?
This is going to be a rough week with no Nick Chubb going for me, and no McCaffrey going for others. Taking a look at my waiver wire, it's pretty dried up. There's not a lot of talent sitting there. One guy that stands out to me is Alexander Mattison. Last week against Philly, he had 14 carries for 63 yards. He's had over 7 carries in 4 games so far, so he is a good secondary option in the Vikings offense.
There's a lot of big names that are not playing this week, so a one week rental could be rough to find. Well, Jakobi Meyers seems like a decent option. He got his first good looks last week when the Patriots played the Giants, catching 4 passes for 54 yards. With NE playing the Jets this week, he can replicate this performance again.
Will Dissly going out with an Achilles injury was bad for my fantasy team, and bad for the Seahawks. So where do we go from here? We could go along with the Seahawks course of action and go with Luke Willson. I'm not riding that bandwagon quite yet. I liked what I saw out of Dallas Goedert last week when the Eagles were trying to come back. He was an integral part of one scoring drive where he had 3 receptions in a row. With that drive alone, he could garner some more looks. He's an athletic TE, so his yards after catch ability is valuable.
There have been some amazing defensive performances, and it's hard to find that one good matchup of the week. Looking at the wire, it's even more difficult. The best matchup I can find is the Cardinals defense facing Daniel Jones. I'm not confident in this, to be honest. I would prefer to play the Bills defense or the Patriots defense with their very favorable match-ups.
If you need a kicker, go with Robbie Gould. The 49ers are playing the Redskins, so I expect many points from Gould. There's not much else.
As for my homer pick of the week, there is a lot to choose from. With the Bills playing against the Dolphins, I would say start every Bills player you have on your team. If I have to choose one player, Cole Beasley is my choice to break out this week. He hasn't caught a touchdown yet, and I fully expect that to change on Sunday.
