Here we are, at the halfway point of the season. I hope you all have been successful in your season's to this point! Time to dive right into this week's Fantasy Perks of the Week!
Teams on Bye: Washington, Arizona, Houston, Jacksonville
Quarterback: Drew Lock (5% Rostered in ESPN)
Drew Lock is back and healthy. He had a rough matchup last week against the Chiefs, but I fully expect him to bounce back this week against the Chargers. The Chargers defense is giving up the 3rd most Fantasy Points so far this season, and Lock has the weapons to take advantage of this. Divisional games are always a treat, and this could be one of those exciting games.
Running Back: JaMycal Hastey (3.5% Rostered in ESPN)
The 49ers are the walking wounded, yet they are still plowing along in the NFC West. This one is another divisional game. Against the Seahawks, Hastey will see a sizeable workload working next to Jerrick McKinnon. Tevin Coleman is questionable for the game, but it doesn't seem like he is going to be active on gameday. It seems like Kyle Shanahan is shifting the offensive focus towards a ground and pound approach, and Hastey will be a beneficiary of this.
Wide Receiver: Marcus Johnson (0.3% Rostered in ESPN)
Johnson has only played in three games this season, and he has see an exponential increase in his workload from week to week. His last game he has 108 yards on 5 catches, and playing in 40 offensive snaps. Coming off of their bye, the Colts take on Detroit, and I can see Johnson taking on an expanded role with Indy. He can take the top off of the secondary, and with that kind of explosive ability, Johnson can produce some big numbers.
Tight End: Harrison Bryant (0.9% Rostered in ESPN)
Cleveland is loaded on offense with weapons. Bryant doesn't seem like the kind of guy that Baker would target, but that wasn't the case this past Sunday. Bryant had 2 touchdowns in the Red Zone against Cincy, and he may see an expanded role with Beckham Jr now out for the remainder of the season and Hooper being out another week recovering from Appendicitis.
Defense/Special Teams: Tennessee Titans (13.6% Rostered in ESPN)
Tennessee is going up against the dynamic rookie in Joe Burrow. The Titans had 3 interceptions against Big Ben this past Sunday, and with seeing how pass happy the Bengals have been, I can see the Tennessee secondary feasting. We still don't have an official word on the health of Joe Mixon, so the Titans may catch a break in the running game.
Kicker: Jake Elliott (31.7% Rostered in ESPN)
The Eagles are going up against a Cowboys team on their 3rd quarterback of the year (possibly) and they just traded Everson Griffin to the Lions. It seems like the Cowboys are mailing it in, and it seems like a good time for the Eagles to try and take a lead in the NFC East at the halfway mark. Elliott can see some increased scoring opportunities on Sunday, and he has shown that he can take advantage of those.
Homer Pick of the Week: Zack Moss (36.9% Rostered in ESPN)
This past week may have been the turning point in the rushing game for Buffalo. Moss showed his ability to run between the tackles with success, and he has the possibility of having more touches going forward than Singletary. Moss has already showed his ability in the passing game, so this game against New England could very well be his "Welcome to the League"breakout moment.
